WATCH: Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving Square Off at Team USA Practice
We’re months away from the start of the 2016-2017 NBA Season, but the rivalry between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, which nearly everyone expects to define the year, appears to be already ramping up.
At the start of a Team USA practice Thursday at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving and new Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant went head-to-head during the team’s shootaround. Watch them square off from the wing:

You have to watch that clip about 15 times to notice the creepy staredown that Durant gives Irving while the guard is shooting. Which, as a Cavaliers fan (full disclosure!), I totally did. Put it on full screen mode and pay attention to KD’s eye-line at about the three-second mark. Ooh, that was cold.
The two stayed on each other’s sixes from then on. Here’s Kyrie reminding Durant what the 3-pointer that won Game 7 of this year’s Finals looked like.
