Jon “Bones” Jones defends his UFC light heavyweight title against Quentin “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135, live from Denver’s Pepsi Center on Saturday, Sept. 24. Jones has looked unbeatable since suffering his only UFC loss in late 2009 (a DQ due to illegal strikes on the ground against Matt Hamill). But “Rampage” is a UFC legend with superb punching power. Nearly half of his 32 career wins have come via KO.
Since “Bones” has a significant reach advantage, we’ll see if he’s content to trade strikes with “Rampage” or if he’ll try to use his wrestling ability to take him down to the mat. Trading strikes with Jackson has never been a good idea, but Jones may feel confident enough to go that route. No other UFC fighter has had such a meteoric rise through the ranks so early in his career.  But anything can happen in the UFC.

Matt Hughes vs. Josh Koscheck
Koscheck hasn’t fought since he lost in a unanimous decision to Georges St-Pierre. He’ll face a legend of the UFC, Matt Hughes, who lost his last fight to B.J. Penn via a first round KO. Hughes was on a three-fight winning streak until that night, but he’s undoubtedly near the tail end of his career, so just having him on the card will be a treat for long-time MMA fans. If Hughes has another few fights left in his tank, he’ll have to beat Koscheck, a gifted wrestler in his own right.
