Denzel Washington Linking With Mark Wahlberg for “2 Guns”
Denzel Washington will link up with Mark Wahlberg for the first time in the upcoming action movie, 2 Guns.
The first still from the flick, released late last week, features the two headliners. In the movie, Washington plays a DEA agent who reluctantly partners with a U.S. Naval Intelligence officer (Wahlberg). The two don’t trust each other any more than the criminals they hunt, but they’re quite effective together. Things take a turn for the worse when they’re tasked with taking down a Mexican drug cartel, then disavowed by their respective agencies. Together they have to find a way to survive the slew of men bent on capturing or killing them.
The movie will also feature James Marsden, Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Edward James Olmos and Fred Ward. It will be directed by Baltasar Kormakur, who worked with Walberg on Contraband.
Wahlberg has been everywhere the past few years. He recently appeared with Russell Crowe in Broken City, and he’s slated for three more upcoming blockbusters, including Pain & Gain, Love Survivor and the next Transformers movie. Meanwhile Washington is still riding high off of his action hit Safe House and the critically-acclaimed Flight.
