Portable meals are necessary for athletes. After school or when classes end, they don’t always have time to go home or go out to get something good to eat before a practice or a game. This list doesn’t include the boring turkey sandwich or the classic pb&j. They are new options for athletes to try. All you need are some portable containers, preferably with separate compartments.
Chopped Salad
The first option is a nice chopped salad. It’s easy to put into a container, but don’t put the dressing on the salad when you pack it. Put the dressing in a separate container so the salad doesn’t get mushy. Enjoy your salad and bring something extra like fruit or tortilla chips.

Meatballs
The second lunch option includes meatballs, a baked potato and some veggies with a Greek yogurt dip. The cool thing about this option is that you don’t need to keep it cool or heat it up. You can eat it at room temperature if necessary.
Chicken and Bagel
The third option for an out-of-the-box portable lunch includes some skewered chicken, a bagel, some fruit and nuts.
All these options include carbohydrates for energy, protein for strength and fruits and vegetables for vitamins and minerals. Drink water with each of them.
