adidas has just unveiled the Nitrocharge, a soccer cleat that launches the brand’s first new “silo,” or family, of soccer cleats since 2004’s adizero F50. Designed to retain energy, improve lateral movement, sharpen on-field reactions, deliver added sprinting power and increase protection for players on the move, the Nitrocharge cleat represents a range of new technologies designed to change the way players perform on the pitch.

New technology includes the ENERGYSLING system, which arches over the cleat to support lateral movements and sharpen reactions; a zig-zagging, elastic ENERGYPULSE sole plate to add energy during the toe-off phase of sprinting; and a layer of mesh around the food to provide protection.

The Nitrocharge is compatible with the adidas miCoach SPEED_CELL, allowing players and coaches to measure on-field performance.

MLS Stars Graham Zusi, Dax McCarty, Osvaldo Alonso, Juninho and Perry Kitchen will wear the Nitrocharge this year, along with international players Dani Alves, Daniele De Rossi, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javi Martinez.

The Nitrocharge will start selling this Monday on adidas.com and other specialty stores for $200.
