adidas TechFit Powers Up Your Game
Can wearing certain gear actually increase athletic performance? With adidas’ Techfit PowerWEB gear, designed specifically to fit around the body’s muscle groups, the answer is yes.
The key components of TechFit PowerWEB technology are the TPU (thermoplastic urethane) elastic bands laced throughout the fabric. They are made to give extra support to the muscular structure, and they’re strategically placed throughout the kit to support movement during performance and speed recovery afterwards. Studies show that athletes who wear PowerWEB apparel have on average increased their speed 4%, their vertical jump 1.1% and their total power output 5.3%.
Watch how top athletes at Athletes’ Performance use the TechFit PowerWEB to train in for the NFL Combine, and get AP’s take on the adidas gear in the video above.
Athletes’ Performance founder Mark Verstegen states, “[With] TechFit PoweWEB, if you put in 100 percent, statistically it gives you back 101 percent. It’s like putting on another layer of muscle across the key movement paths.”
This gear might just give adidas-repping athletes a slight advantage over their competition.
