Will Ferrell returns to the role of San Diego’s top-rated newsman Ron Burgundy in the highly anticipated sequel to the hit comedy, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Many of Ferrell’s co-stars from the original film, including Christina Applegate as Burgundy’s sexy co-anchor and wife Veronica Corningstone, join him for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Fans will be excited to know that Steve Carrell also returns to his memorable role as weatherman Brick Tamland—along with Paul Rudd as man on the street Brian Fantana and David Koechner as colorful sportscaster Champ Kind.

In this installment, set in the 1980s, Burgundy goes to work for New York’s first 24-hour news channel. He and the gang try hard to reinvent themselves and adapt to a new era, but judging from the trailer, they are just as clueless and politically incorrect as they were in the swinging 70’s, setting the stage for lots of laughs. Burgundy is particularly inept at race relations, and his behavior is even more buffoonish than usual as the only white dinner guest in a black family’s home. He makes one absurd blunder after another in an attempt to fit in.

The cast also includes other big names such as Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Vince Vaughn, Liam Neeson and Jim Carrey.

The movie hits theaters Dec. 20.
