Arnold Schwarzenegger Leads Star Cast in ‘Sabotage’
In the upcoming crime thriller Sabotage, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, a team of elite Drug Enforcement Administration operatives set out to bust a drug cartel’s safe house. But the raid is really a smokescreen to conceal the team’s real motive: to pillage the mansion and steal millions of dollars for themselves. Just as the loot is hidden away and it looks like the squad may get with away with the crime, an anonymous assassin starts knocking the team off one by one.
Schwarzenegger plays John “Breacher” Wharton, the commander of the DEA squad. The ensemble cast includes Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Terrence Howard and Josh Holloway. Olivia Wilde (Hyde Park on the Hudson) plays investigator Caroline Brentwood.
This action-packed mystery is loosely based on Agatha Christie’s famous novel, And Then There Were None, which has been adapted for several movies over the years.
Sabotage was written by Skip Woods. No stranger to the genre, Woods also wrote the high profile action movies X-Men Origins: Wolverine and A Good Day to Die Hard. The film is directed by David Ayers, best known for last year’s End of Watch.
Among the noteworthy aspects of this project, Schwarzenegger’s character is shown to be more human and complex than previous Arnold characters. Even his appearance is different, featuring close-cropped hair and tattoos.
Sabotage is due to premiere Jan. 24, 2014.
