Ben Simmons Is Back in the Gym Less Than Two Weeks After Foot Surgery
Less than two weeks after undergoing successful surgery to repair what’s being called an acute Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, Philadelphia 76ers much-hyped rookie Ben Simmons is in the gym working his way back to full strength.

Simmons, who will reportedly be out for three months—that is, if his agent lets him play this season at all—posted a picture of a recent workout to his Instagram showing him holding an exercise ball in a Squat position while a resistance band is looped around his waist.
“Turning a negative into a positive is never easy, thanks to everyone for the support and love. Looking forward to coming back stronger and better,” Simmons’s caption reads.
Simmons already has the support of one teammate who knows how mentally and physically draining it can be to rehab after an injury. Joel Embiid, who will play in an actual game of basketball for the first time in two years, commented “Trust the Process” on Simmons’s photo, a rallying cry the 76ers have long used as they work to return to NBA relevancy.
