Big K.R.I.T. Releases New Mixtape
Big K.R.I.T. has released a new mixtape ahead of his sophomore project, Cadillactica.
K.R.I.T. is no stranger to the mixtape game. The free project is his 11th overall and the first installment of See Me On Top since 2008’s Vol. 3. The 22-track opus features other artists’ songs on which he appears—such as DJ Infamous’s “Somethin’ Right” and Slim Thug’s “Just Chill”—remixes, original tracks, and a snippet of his second LP’s lead single, “Pay Attention,” featuring crooner Rico Love. You can download See Me On Top, Vol. 4 via LiveMixtapes.
During a recent interview with HHS1987, the southern rapper explained the overall mood of his upcoming album and some of the collaborations fans should expect: “Just a lot of soul, man. There’s definitely growth. I had the opportunity to work with a lot of great producers—Jim Jonsin, Terrance Martin, DJ Dahi, [and] Rico Love on the ‘Pay Attention’ record. It was just beautiful to get in with other producers and kind of vibe off them creatively.” Check out the rest of the interview in the video below.
Big K.R.I.T. is set to embark on a 31-city tour just ahead of Cadillactica‘s November arrival. The “Pay Attention” tour kicks off Oct. 2 in Charlotte and makes stops in Boston, Cleveland, Seattle and Dallas before coming to an end in Atlanta on Nov. 15. “This tour will give fans a little taste of what is to come. I am traveling with a message, a message about our culture–where we were and what we have come to,” said K.R.I.T. in a statement.
