Broncos Kicker Brandon McManus Doubts That Justin Tucker Can Kick an 84-Yard Field Goal
Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus doesn’t believe Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
On Thursday, Tucker claimed he could kick an 84-yard field goal if weather conditions were “prime,” particularly if he kicked it at the Broncos’ Sports Authority Field at Mile High, a location where high altitude is a factor.
McManus isn’t buying it.

“I will give him an all-expense paid trip if he can do it,” McManus told 9News. “I’ll pay for his flight, his hotel, if he wants to come out here and do it. I’ll kick with him, I’ll witness it and I’ll vouch to the world that he can do it.”
Tucker said that during a visit to Denver last season, he hit the crossbar from about 85 yards during warm-ups. Tucker’s career-long field goal is 61 yards, which he kicked in 2013 against the Detroit Lions.
McManus acknowledged seeing Tucker make field goals from 70-plus during warm-ups, but he claimed that because of the low trajectory, the ball would’ve hit a defensive lineman if Tucker had tried it during a game.
A successful 84-yard field goal is difficult to imagine, even if the weather conditions were perfect. The longest field goal in NFL history is 64 yards, by former Broncos kicker Matt Prater in 2013.
