Derrick Rose Debuts New adidas adiZero Rose 2.5
Chicago Bulls point guard and reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose debuts his new adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 signature shoe in a new video (above), which pays homage to fans who have previously reviewed his signature footwear and encourages them to submit reviews of the 2.5 to the adidas Basketball Facebook page once it hits stores on Feb. 2.
At 11 ounces, Rose’s fourth signature shoe is the lightest basketball shoe he’s ever worn. It will give him next level speed and support for the second half of the season and the Bulls’ playoff run.
The adiZero Rose 2.5 features a top down satellite view of Rose’s Englewood (Chicago) neighborhood embossed in the toe box and upper. The map view is a continuation of the “Cleared for Flight” theme of the adiZero Rose 2.0 and represents a view from high above.
Other signature details include “ROSE” on the tongue and three stripes on the back to signify his speed on the court. The sockliner features an infrared color and Rose’s signature—a nod to his motivation and inspired style of play. Featured on the toe is his jersey number—a bold “1.”
The adiZero Rose 2.5 is constructed well. Inspired by the adiZero Crazy Light, the upper features premium SprintFrame execution and an enlarged SprintWeb area to reduce weight, add support and allow for maximum motion control. A GeoFit memory foam collar provides optimum comfort and fit, especially when combined with Rose’s adiZero Speedwrap Ankle Brace.
The Rose 2.5 also uses the Crazy Light outsole traction system, which includes varied engineered thickness to ensure maximum grip in high wear perimeter zones, and less thickness and weight in low perimeter zones like the midfoot.
The adiZero Rose 2.5 will be available in home and away colorways on Feb. 2 at Foot Locker, Eastbay and shopadidas.com for $110.
