Dwight Howard Reviews His adidas Beast Basketball Sneaker
This Friday, Nov. 12, ballers across the globe can step their game up to Superman status with the all-new Dwight Howard adidas Beast basketball sneaker.
“I’m one of those guys who likes to move around on the court, block shots, rebound,” says the Orlando Magic big man. “I’m all over the place, [so] I need a shoe that is light.”
Weighing an astonishing 15 ounces—extremely light for a basketball shoe—the Beast combines textiles with synthetic materials to reduce weight and increase stability during cutting movements. adidas’ basketball-specific Sprintskin, on the medial and lateral sides of the shoe, releases heat to keep the wearer’s feet cool and comfortable throughout all four quarters of a game.
The tongue features a unique lacing system that can be popped forward for casual wear or moved back and laced up tight for court action.
Featuring adidas’ Pure Motion technology, the lightweight outsole adapts to each individual athlete’s natural foot movement to maximize stability and traction, allowing ballers to cut faster without false steps.
Howard says, “adidas did an excellent job at making just a real cool shoe. For me, it makes me faster, jump higher, gets me a little quicker—I got my cat-like reflexes.”
