View With Your Crew: Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Escape Plan’
Sylvester Stallone will star in the action thriller Escape Plan, hitting theaters Sept. 13. The film follows Ray Breslin (Stallone), a structural-security authority who ironically ends up incarcerated in a maximum security prison he designed himself after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Breslin must use the survival skills and the knowledge he’s acquired while designing prisons to escape and track down the person who framed him.
Breslin gets an assist from his cellmate, Emil Rottmayer, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fans hope the two action legends will bring the same magic they displayed in The Expendables. To break out of the supposedly escape-proof prison, the pair will have to contend with the vicious prison warden, played by Jim Caviezel, and his equally ruthless and corrupt prison guard, played by British actor Vinnie Jones.
Escape Plan will also star Vincent D’Orofrio as the deputy director of the high-tech prison. Interestingly, rapper 50 Cent will take on the role of Hush, a computer expert serving time for cyber crime who joins Breslin and Rottmayer in their escape. Amy Ryan will play Breslin’s business partner.
The film will be helmed by Swedish director Mikael Håfström, who has plenty of experience directing thrillers, most memorably 2007’s The Rite. Miles Chapman, best known in film for writing Roadhouse 2, wrote the screenplay for Escape Plan along with Jason Keller (Mirror, Mirror).
