Help Uncle Sam, Help You
The military offers several ways to earn money for college or repay your loans.
Attend a Service Academy
Every student at the five U.S. service academies receives a full scholarship; however, service academies are even more difficult to get into than most Ivy League schools.
Join the ROTC
The Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps all have Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC)programs offering tuition help to students who commit to military service after college. Completing the ROTC program makes you eligible to enter as an officer.
National Guard
The National Guard requires a minimum of one weekend a month and two weeks a year for training, leaving plenty of time for school. Like all members of the military, National Guard members enjoy educational benefits like the Montgomery G.I. Bill and federal tuition assistance. Guard members also can take advantage of additional education incentives offered by their states.
