Here’s All the Disgusting, Amazing Food Being Sold at Super Bowl LI
The Super Bowl boasts the annual opportunity to watch the two best teams in the NFL (most of the time anyway) trade blows in what everyone hopes will be an epic game that results in the fair and free crowning of a champion. Sometimes you get exactly that, like when Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson was tackled at the 1-yard line with no time left on the clock to give the St. Louis Rams a 23-16 victory in Super Bowl XXXIV. Sometimes you get a heaping pile of trash, like when the Seattle Seahawks blitzed the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII. But what is always guaranteed, whether you’re in the stadium or at home on your couch, is the chance you get to devour as much unhealthy, amazing food as you can.
That’s especially true if you’re fortunate enough to have a ticket to Super Bowl LI in Houston on February 5. Aramark, the company the provides food services for NRG Stadium, gave Stadiyums a preview of the deliciousness that will be available, and the options are as greasy and as filthy and as amazing as you could ever hope.
There’s the All American Pigskin Burger, commonly found in its natural habitat of Fudruckers, featuring American cheese, bacon and fried jalepenos, all smothered in BBQ sauce atop a BBQ seasoned beef patty.
There’s the Texas Short Rib Grilled Cheese, which contains pulled short rib mixed with pimento cheese stuffed between two slice of Texas Toast and a side of fried pickles.
There’s the Beantown Griller, a dish in honor of the New England Patriots, a slow cooked pot roast with carmelized onions and cheddar cheese inside whole wheat bread, served with a side of bacon-infused baked beans.
But the grandaddy offering of them all pays homage to the Patriots’ opponent, the Atlanta Falcons. It’s entitled the ATL Fried Chicken Stak. It’s a plate filled with buttermilk fried chicken, peach marmalade BBQ sauce, waffle fries, sour cream and green onions. Yes. Please.
Other options include a loaded baked potato and BBQ Steak Frites, and there must surely be others that Aramark has not yet unveiled. Whatever you choose, if you happen to be at the game, it is going to pack on the pounds. But it looks totally worth it.
