Texas Tech Football coach Kliff Kingsbury is one of the youngest D-I football coaches ever, and although he can lay down the law when needed, he knows when to have a good time.

Per the coach’s request, the Big 12 Conference team ended a spring practice Thursday with a team dance-off.

Kingsbury, a former Texas Tech and NFL quarterback, called out two players’ names at a time, then blasted music over the loud speakers.

Round one was running back Quinton White vs. defensive back Austin Stewart to Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie.”

Kingsbury then called out sophomore Tyler Scalzi and offensive lineman Poet Thomas to show their best Soulja Boy.

Things really heat up when Red Raiders wide receiver Derreck Edwards was thrown in the circle without a competitor, until Kingsbury takes off his jacket, flips his hat backwards and gears up for battle.

Kingsbury should have won the competition immediately for his “Too Turnt Up” t-shirt and backwards visor, but he actually held his own with some impressive “Stanky Legg” moves.

The best part? The players bust-a-move in their practice uniforms with their helmets still strapped on tight.

Kingsbury called it the first edition of dance competitions, so hopefully there’s more to come.
