Nike Introduces the LeBron 11 Lifestyle Collection
Nike has unveiled the LeBron 11 Lifestyle Collection in time for the holidays.
The shoe draws its inspiration from the NBA star’s off-court life. Comfort is paramount and luxury isn’t far behind in the three offerings, all of which feature a Phylon and compression-molded heel. The “King of Miami” design is inspired by the palm trees in his team’s hometown.
According to Nike, “Just as LeBron has been on a dynamic journey, this shoe boasts a versatile and accessible design with a leather upper that conceals a luxurious interior.”
LeBron’s life growing up as a kid in Akron, Ohio, served as inspiration for the “King of the Streets” sneaker. It features an all-reflective upper that commands attention, just as James did when he was a teen basketball phenom. The light blue laces are meant to represent the South Beach coastline.
“Work Hard, Play Hard” brings the two themes together by combining a wheat color reminiscent of uniforms worn by blue-collar construction workers and pink to exemplify Miami’s flair, especially in the city’s Design District.
“Here, LeBron’s past and present are perfectly interwoven,” says Nike. “The self-reliant spirit of Akron … [and] Miami’s flamboyance. The souls of the two cities are juxtaposed—both in LeBron and in this version of the LeBron 11.”
The LeBron 11 Lifestyle sneaker is currently available from select Nike Sportswear retailers for $130.
