LeBron James Offers Up New Game Show
LeBron James and Chris Hardwick are joining forces for a new game show called The Wall, which will air on NBC. The trivia-based program is being produced by James via his SpringHill Entertainment banner. Hosting duties fall to Hardwick, who has notable experience in the role, having hosted @midnight and Talking Dead. Hardwick is also executive producing.
The network initially ordered 10 episodes of the show, which has been compared to “Plinko” from The Price is Right. The concept combines trivia questions with game pieces and a ball that fall down a wall of pegs, careening toward slots marked with different monetary values. The contestants, two-person teams, have the opportunity to win life-changing money based on their answers to the questions and the bounce of the ball.
James expressed enthusiasm for The Wall, saying, “I’m excited about this series because it’s different from anything on TV right now. It’s got everything—excitement, drama and action—and it’s something the entire family can watch and root for together. I believe Chris Hardwick brings all of that together in a really entertaining way that people will enjoy. For SpringHill Entertainment, it’s about creating quality and innovative content for all types of audiences, and I’m proud of the exciting projects we continue to be a part of.”
