LeBron Reveals The One Retired Player He Wishes He Could’ve Played With Most (Hint: It’s Not MJ, Magic or Wilt)
During his 12 years in the NBA, LeBron James has played alongside some phenomenal teammates. D-Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie, Shaq—all are among great players with whom James has had the privilege of teaming up.
During a recent media session, James was asked an intriguing question—if he could pair up with any NBA player in history, who would it be?
You probably won’t guess his answer on your first try. He didn’t mention legendary players who made their mark on the game years ago—guys like Michael Jordan or Wilt Chamberlain or Magic Johnson. Instead, he named a more contemporary player.

Jason Kidd was a dynamic point guard on both ends of the court, and his ability to distribute the basketball helped him lead the league in assists on five separate occasions. James detailed his appreciation for the 10-time All-Star in an interview with ESPN back in 2013.
“[Kidd] is one of the best point guards to ever play the game, from my perspective,” James said. “His leadership, when he first came into the league, his quickness, his passing ability … You just look at his numbers, from 3-point shooting to assists and steals and rebounds. He would rebound the ball and then go to coast-to-coast.”
Unlike Magic, MJ or Wilt, James actually got to play against Kidd for several years, so he saw his game up close. There’s no doubt that King James thinks Kidd’s game would have perfectly complemented his own, and seeing both players together in their prime would have been spectacular. But Kidd now serves as head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, so we’ll have to use our imaginations to envision the degree of dominance of a James-Kidd dynamic duo.
