Did Lil Wayne Trample on the American Flag?

In a leaked clip from the taping of the music video for “God Bless Amerika,” Lil Wayne seems to be dancing and performing on a fallen American flag. Though the violation doesn’t carry any legal ramifications, it did spark outrage amongst Weezy’s patriotic fans.

The New Orleans rapper initially reacted via Twitter by insisting that he didn’t step on the flag on purpose. But the statement did little to quiet the outcry, since he appears to look down at the ground several times in the clip. Eventually, he released another statement on his official Facebook page fully explaining the scene.

“It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America…The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed behind the American flag was the Hoods of America,” explained Wayne. “In the final edit of the video, you will see the flag fall to reveal what’s behind it but will never see it on the ground.”

Chief Keef’s Legal Troubles Grow With Arrest & Warrant

Chief Keef’s arrests are becoming so commonplace that they hardly merit a headline any more. On Monday, Keef went to traffic court in Chicago to plead guilty to speeding charges. The judge advised him to stay out of the driver’s seat and gave him 60 hours of community service, an order to submit to random drug testing, 18 months of probation and a $531 fine.

Keef only made it a few blocks from the courthouse before he was arrested again for misdemeanor trespassing. There is also the matter of an arrest warrant issued in Miami for driving a stolen Ferrari convertible and possession of marijuana. On top of all that, the rapper is also facing a paternity suit from another girl who claims he is the father of her little girl. Ah, the life and times of misguided youth.

Rappers Lil Snupe & Jimme Wallstreet Murdered

Rapper Lil Snupe, whose real name was Addarren Ross, died Thursday from gunshot wounds in Winnfield, La. The up-and-coming entertainer and Louisiana native was reportedly in town for a concert. Investigators have already identified 36-year-old convicted felon Tony Holden as a suspect. The two reportedly got into a disagreement over a video game that culminated with Holden shooting Ross twice in the chest. Earlier this year, Lil Snupe signed a recording contract with Philly rapper Meek Mill’s label, Dream Chasers, and he was set to make an appearance on Maybach Music’s upcoming compilation, Self Made Vol. 3.

Another associate of Mill’s, Jimme Wallstreet, also lost his life last week. The 34-year-old rapper was fatally shot outside his mother’s house in Philadelphia, just hours after he released an Instragram post lamenting the death of Lil Snupe. Wallstreet, whose real name was James Davis, entered the game under 50 Cent’s tutelage before signing a production deal with DJ Don Cannon. Most recently, he had released a collaborative mixtape with New Jersey rapper Big Ooh! called Twin Towers.
