LOOK: Actor J.K. Simmons Got Disturbingly Huge For Upcoming Role in ‘Justice League’
J.K. Simmons is a lot more than just the dude from the Farmers Insurance commercials. The actor has also been in a lot of good movies, playing the dad in Juno, terrifying and insane drumming instructor who continually slapped Miles Teller in the face in the excellent Whiplash, and the guy on the receiving end of some bad news from George Clooney in Up in the Air.
Now he looks to be adding a new character type to his impressive list of roles: Badass. Recent pictures of the 61-year-old’s arms reveal biceps as big as mountains and veiny as a racehorse. Simmons has been working out with former Marine-turned-personal trainer Aaron Williamson to prepare for his upcoming role as Commissioner Gordon in “Justice League,” and the results are, uh, kind of disturbing.

The actor barely resembles the sweet, lovable, professorial type of person we’ve all assumed he is thanks to those insurance ads. The transition to those mutant-like arms seems strange considering his character in Justice League doesn’t even have much screen time, and when he does appear in a scene, he will most likely be wearing a police uniform that hides his enormous cannons.
[instagram src=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BE1RkVuvvJl”]Regardless, Simmons certainly looks to be in the best shape of his life. He could probably grind a stone to dust just by squeezing it in his hand.
