Just in Time for Spring: New Football Uniforms for the Miami Hurricanes
The University of Miami Hurricanes football team has received a uniform upgrade, courtesy of Nike. Unveiled ahead of the Hurricanes’ spring game, the new uniforms represent the team’s first major visual makeover since 2006.
The ‘Canes now have four interchangeable uniform colors: orange, white, green and gray. In the photo above, the orange configuration, to be worn for home games, is called “Juice”; the white kit is dubbed “Storm Trooper”; the green is named “Surge”; and the gray kit is “Smoke.” The array of color combinations gives Miami an impressive array of uniform options.
The Hurricanes’ Ibis logo has been aggressively incorporated into the helmet, hip and shoulders of the uniform. “The innovative look respects our tradition but perhaps more importantly, represents the future and our current ‘Canes,” head coach Al Golden said in a statement. “We have one of the most iconic logos in college sports, and Nike has combined that with its latest performance technology to produce a sleek, dynamic new uniform for ‘The U.’”
Miami’s uniform upgrade coincides with Nike’s uniform makeover for the Florida State University Seminoles.
