Naomi Watts stars in the new psychological thriller Shut In, about a widowed child psychologist living in rural New England who must rescue a young boy during a fierce winter storm before he disappears forever.

The cast also features Oliver Platt (Chicago Med), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Crystal Balint (Mech X-4), David Cubitt (TV’s Van Helsing) and Jacob Tremblay, best known for his well-loved performance in the 2015 film Room.

Tremblay talked about the difference between acting in this film and the critically acclaimed Room: “I had to act scared a lot with Jack [in Room]. But I had to act scared [in Shut In] most of the time.” Describing his character in the new movie, he said, “Tom’s a dark character. Not Batman dark. But he’s scared, has rings under his eyes and looks creepy.”

Shut In marks the feature film screenwriting debut of Christina Hodson, who also wrote the upcoming Katherine Heigl-Rosario Dawson thriller Unforgettable, debuting next year.

Directing the movie is Farren Blackburn, best known for the TV series Dr. Who and Daredevil.

Watts has done some of her best work in thrillers, but her seven upcoming projects are an interesting mix of genres, ranging from the suspenseful TV series drama Gypsy, in which she again plays a therapist, to the big screen re-imagining of Hamlet, titled Ophelia, and the small screen adaptation of The Divergent Series: Ascendant. Watts will also re-team with Tremblay for the highly anticipated 2017 feature The Book of Henry, about a single mother raising a child genius.

Shut In hits theaters on Nov. 11.
