The Most Amazing Vines From the First Round of the NBA Playoffs
It’s the NBA Playoffs, which means there are entirely too many dunks, crossovers, game winners and long-distance shots for you to possibly keep up with. Unless your man cave contains 20 TVs all running simultaneously, chances are you’ve missed some basketball amazingness. But before you have a full-blown panic attack, take a deep breath. We’ve collected some of the best highlights, in crispy Vine format, for your viewing pleasure. You can thank us later.
The Ghost of Deron Williams Crosses Over DeMarre Carroll
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams pull out handles like this. What was once a common occurence during his time in Utah has disappeared into the rafters of the Barclays Center, until Williams went full 2006 and dropped 35 points on the Atlanta Hawks in Game 4, and took DeMarre Carroll’s ankles in the process.
Jerryd Bayless Sneaks Behind Derrick Rose For the Game Winner
When the Chicago Bulls took a 3-0 lead on the Milwaukee Bucks in their first-round matchup of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, everyone figured a sweep was a forgone conclusion. That is until Bucks point guard Jerryd Bayless snuck behind Derrick Rose on an inbounds play with 1.3 seconds left and sunk the lay-up to give the Bucks the last-second win in Game 4. And Milwaukee wasn’t done, stealing Game 5 on Chicago’s home court to put the series at 3-2.
Kevin Love’s Reverse Alley-Oop
Before Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love was sidelined for the rest of the playoffs with a dislocated shoulder, he was busy reminding the rest of the NBA that he can indeed still jump more than a few inches off the ground. During Game 2 of the Cavs’ opening-round series against the Boston Celtics, LeBron James saw Love streaking toward the hoop and sent him a picture-perfect lob ending in a nasty reverse dunk. It awoke a dormant Cavaliers team and crowd, spurring them to victory.

Jason Kidd REALLY Needs a Timeout
Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd really needed a timeout during Game 5 against the Bulls. But the ref just wouldn’t give it to him. So what do you do when the referee won’t bow to your commands? You hop around like a teenager listening to Avenged Sevenfold for the first time. Eventually you’ll get your way!
Blake Griffin Dunks All Over the San Antonio Spurs’ Entire Existence
The NBA Playoffs wouldn’t be complete without Blake Griffin taking flight and dunking all over someone, or in this case, a whole team. The Spurs caught the brunt of Griffin’s aerial assault during Game 1 of their opening-round series, and we never heard from Aron Baynes, featured in the first Vine, again.
Kawhi Leonard Returns the Favor Against Blake Griffin
Griffin hasn’t been the only one throwing down in the highly entertaining Spurs-Clippers series. Kawhi Leonard returned the favor with this tasty jam on Griffin, who is usually the one doing the jamming.
LeBron James’s Full-Court Swish
If you don’t think LeBron James is superhuman after watching him drain this one-handed, full-court shot during practice ahead of Game 4 against Boston, you probably don’t believe man walked on the moon either.
Anthony Davis’s One-Handed Alley-Oop
For us normal people, an alley-oop thrown about 10 feet over our heads would go sailing into the crowd. New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis just had to reach a tad bit higher to catch it and throw it down. The Brow prevails.
