Get the Real Life Rosters for "NCAA 13"
Now that EA Sports has released NCAA 13, college football fans have something to hold them over until the real games kick off this fall.
But like always, in compliance with NCAA rules and licensing regulations, the team rosters are being shipped without the student-athletes’ real names and key details. That’s why you’ll see Michigan’s quarterback listed as “QB #16” instead of Denard Robinson, and why the virtual player doesn’t have Robinson’s trademark dreadlocks.
The game allows users to upload or download roster files, and it’s usually pretty easy to find named rosters. Just Google something like “NCAA 13 roster,” use your best judgment and hope for the best.
But how can you be sure you’re getting a real, accurate roster with the key details adjusted? If you dive into NCAA 13’s Dynasty mode, you’ll devote hours of gaming to the same roster files, so you’ll want to be sure you’re using the right ones.
Fortunately, the fine folks at Operation Sports have sports gamers covered on this one. As soon as NCAA 13 was released, they started updating their community rosters to include real player names, tweaked appearances, new equipment and late transfers. They even have each team’s blue-chip freshmen, who will be playing their first season this fall.
Best of all, it’s free. The PS3 rosters are available now, and the Xbox 360 ones should be finished within a day or so.
