Nicki Minaj’s ‘The Pinkprint’ Pushed Back to December
It looks like Lil Wayne’s new album is not the only one being pushed back. Nicki Minaj’s third studio album, The Pinkprint, originally slated to hit shelves later this month, is now delayed until mid-December.
Asked about both delays, Wayne’s and Nicki’s, label head Birdman recently told XXL: “Really, they be on the call. It ain’t on me. So whatever Wayne want to do, Nicki want to do. I leave that up to them. I don’t decide on dates and everything. I don’t do none of that.”
In her forthcoming project, Nicki collaborates with artists she hasn’t worked with before and delves into deeper material. She told MTV News, “I’m really excited, and the people that [I] have been working with now have been people that I haven’t worked with before, so it’s like they’re bringing a new sound to the album that I’ve never experimented with.”
At least two familiar faces will show up. The New York rapper recently released a single, “Only,” which features label mates Drake and Lil Wayne, as well as singer Chris Brown. On the track, Nicki clears the air about the nature of her relationships with Drake and Weezy, while both rappers vie for a place in her life should she ever become single. It’s more relevant due to recent reports that she has broken up with her long-time boyfriend Safaree Samuels.
