The Oregon Ducks are in a bowl game, taking on TCU on Jan. 2, so you already knew Nike would have something up their sleeve for their favorite university to rock on gameday. Turns it, it’s way bigger than just a simple uniform tweak.

Today, at their campus in Beaverton, Oregon, Nike unveiled the Vapor Untouchable uniform and Vapor Untouchable II cleats. The uniform is purported to be 29 percent lighter than the lightest uniform worn in the NFL. It weighs in at just 20.4 ounces by removing excess panels and seams that were originally built in to the uniform.

“This creates a shrink-wrap fit, resulting in fewer grab points for the opposing team,” said Nate Retzlaf, design director of NFL and NCAA apparel, who spent most of last year revamping the uniforms of the Cleveland Browns before moving on to create the Vapor Untouchable.

Allowing for better ventilation on the field, the uniform replaces typical mesh fabric with a laser-perforated, stretch-woven material in areas where players sweat most, like the lower back, stomach and under the knee.

Oregon will debut the Vapor Untouchable uniform on Jan. 2, and the uniforms will be worn during the NFL Pro Bowl in February.

As for the Vapor Untouchable II cleat, the upper is a mixture of Flyweave and Flyknit technology, which brings the weight down to only 9.5 ounces. The cleats look super sleek, with a white upper offset by gold accents and a totally gold chrome sole.

Players on all four College Football Playoff teams will rock the Vapor Untouchable II cleats, as will NFLers participating in the Pro Bowl.
