Nike T90 Laser IV Sneak Preview
After months of anticipation, the new generation of Nike T90 Laser soccer cleats has finally arrived. Initially available in white/total orange/black and black/white/yellow colorways, the boot is expected to hit stores at the beginning of October.
The most-talked-about feature of the Nike T90 Laser IV is its adaptive shield technology, which allows the strike zone to be broken up into flex strips that move with the player’s foot, providing a much more natural feel. The strips are thinnest near the sole for better dribble control and more textured on the side to generate swerve.
Despite the addition of shape-correcting memory foam, the adaptive shield and a new sole plate, theNike T90 Laser IV is 20 percent lighter than earlier models, putting its weight at around 8.2 ounces.
Although several pros have worn the cleats in recent weeks, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will be the first player to officially wear them in a match—this Sunday, Sept. 18 against league rival Chelsea. Watch the match and let us know on Facebook if you’ll be buying the Laser IV when it comes out next month.
