Without fully nerding out, Beckham’s cleats paid homage to Kirby, the pink and fluffy Nintendo character who floats around and can suck up other characters and take on some of their characteristics. The NFL uses the month of October to go pink to promote breast cancer awareness, and OBJ’s cleats take that theme to its video game best.
Beckham has gone way outside the box with his football gear this season—he rocked gloves with the Joker’s smile running across them last week—as he tries to get back to “having fun” playing football after a tough start to the season. Looks like he’s back on track.
