Preview of UFC on Fox 2: Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis
The UFC is coming back to prime time network television. On Saturday, Jan. 28, Fox 2 will air a stacked UFC card featuring two of the light heavyweight division’s best hitters, Rashad Evans and Phil Davis. Their match will most likely determine the next challenger to current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. The winner—former UFC Champ Evans or top contender Davis—will be primed for a future title shot. Evans will have his hands full with the younger Davis, who is 9-0 in his pro career. If he ever wants to see UFC gold again, Evans will have to get through this solid wrestler.
Viewers will be treated not only to an excellent main event, but also to several other great fights—such as the bout between Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz. Munoz is tearing up the middleweight division, while Sonnen is coming off a win against top battler Brian Stann. A win for either fighter will place him next in line to take on Anderson Silva and steal his middleweight crown. Both Sonnen and Munoz are strong fighters, and this promises to be an outstanding matchup.
The final UFC big fight of the night, pitting Michael Bisping against jiu-jitsu specialist Demian Maia, will offer a stark contrast in fighting styles. Bisping is a solid striker who likes to fight standing up, whereas Maia will try to take the battle to the ground.
Tune in to Fox 2 for this UFC event on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10 p.m. EST. Oh, did we mention—it’s absolutely free?
