Earlier this year, 20-year-old Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada became the Boston Red Sox’s No. 1 prospect. Several MLB teams hosted Moncada for workouts, but Boston will shell out a total of $63 million to sign Moncada, around half of that to pay penalty taxes for considerably surpassing their international bonus pool limit.
Red Sox writer Jared Carrabis recently tweeted a video of Moncada in the weight room performing some casual, but very heavy shoulder shrugs. The sheer size of Moncada’s arms is, well, noteworthy. Carrabis captioned his tweet, “If baseball doesn’t work out for Yoan Moncada, I think he might be getting a call from Vince McMahon.” McMahon is the CEO of wrestling promotion at the WWE.

Moncada, who primarily plays second base, is a switch-hitter with furious power at the plate. At the age of 17, he posted a .414 on-base percentage in 172 at bats in Cuba’s Serie Nacional. He’s also fast, stealing 49 bases in 52 attempts during his first season for Class A Greenville this past year.
