We’re only a few weeks ago from intense training camp practices and the NFL’s first round of preseason games, which is good news for rookies anxious to prove themselves to the league’s vets. Since being selected second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has dealt with even more hype than Andrew Luck, the number one pick. How has RGIII responded to the pressure? Simply by making D.C. fans fall in love with him.
During his short time with the Redskins, Griffin has already got used to playing different roles on the team. Sure, he’s a rookie, but he’s also the franchise QB and attempting to become the team leader. Those multiple roles have as much to do with his attitude and maturity as his 40 time. RGIII will have to continue to wear a lot of hats once the season starts, especially if the Skins don’t run hot out of the gate.
