Seth Rogen Comedy ‘The Interview’ Coming in December
Seth Rogen’s upcoming action-comedy The Interview centers on broadcaster Dave Skylark (played by James Franco) and TV producer Aaron Rapoport (Rogen), who have a highly rated celebrity tabloid talk show called Skylark Tonight. With aspirations to become hard news journalists, the two see an opportunity to do some serious reporting when they learn that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show.
Dave and Aaron manage to land an interview with the Korean leader and are preparing to travel to Pyongyang when they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate the dictator. The fact that the two men are such unlikely assassins may keep Kim Jong-un and his entourage off guard, but since they are completely unqualified for the job, Dave and Aaron are more than a little challenged by their mission.
In addition to starring in the film, Rogen is directing with collaborator Evan Goldberg, who wrote the screenplay.
The cast also features Lizzy Caplan, best known for the TV series True Blood and Masters of Sex, along with actors Diana Bang (Bates Motel), Charles Rahi Chun (Scrubs) and Tommy Chang (Lars and the Real Girl). In the role of Kim Jong-un is Randall Park, a regular on HBO’s Veep, who was seen last year in Rogen’s hit movie, Neighbors.
The Interview hits theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
