Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross blew everyone’s socks off at the 2017 NFL Combine when he ran the event’s fastest 40-Yard Dash ever. After feeling confident about posting a time of 4.22, the rookie went out and challenged the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt. But when Bolt did not step up to the challenge, Tennessee’s All-American sprinter Christian Coleman did.

Coleman ran an insane time of 4.12, blowing Ross’s time out of the water. Coleman’s time was unheard of, but to be fair, he is unworldly fast. On Wednesday, at the NCAA Division I outdoor Track & Field Championships, the junior set a new NCAA record for the 100-meter dash.

Coleman ran the semifinal heat in 9.82 seconds. His time was wind-legal so there’s no arguing his speed. His time made him the fourth-fastest American of all time and the ninth-fastest man worldwide. Coleman’s time is also the fastest time in the world this year.

Coleman beat his personal best by 0.14 seconds and the previous record of 9.89, set by Florida State’s Ngonidzashe Manusha at the 2011 NCAA meet in Des Moines, Iowa.
