‘Thor: The Dark World’ to Feature 2 Post-Credits Scenes
When it reaches theaters in a few weeks, Thor: The Dark World will feature not one, but two scenes among the credits. One appears mid-credits and the other begins after the credits have rolled.
The contents of the clips have not been revealed, but we won’t have to wait much longer. The movie will be released in the UK at the end of the month. Do you think we’ll get another scene featuring Thanos? Or will Marvel and Disney use the space to stick with tradition and feature members of the Avengers meeting up as Thor retells his recent ordeal? Will the shawarma fest continue?
The Dark World picks up one year after the Battle of New York. Thor reunites with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and faces off against formidable foe Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves, who threatens to destroy the entire universe.
Thor’s father and brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Odin (Anthony Hopkins) are also slated to appear in the film, along with Heimdall (Idris Elba), and Jane’s friend Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings).
Marvel released a series of clips for the sequel late last week. In the one below, Thor swoops down just in time to help out Sif and his Asgardian brethren while they struggle to win a battle. In another, Darcy provides comic relief as Jane reunites with Thor for the first time. Their reunion starts off a little rocky, as the scientist demands an explanation for the superhero’s departure in the first movie.
Thor 2, which is directed by Alan Taylor, will be released on November 8 in the U.S. According to reports, the movie should pull in more than $75 million at the box office during its first week—an impressive showing that would eclipse its predecessor’s first week haul but falls short of Iron Man 3.
