Timex Ironman Race Trainer
Heart rate monitors have traditionally been used by uber-extreme endurance athletes. With the new Timex Ironman Race Trainer, that could change.
This innovative device possesses an array of fitness functions to help modern athletes assess their training progress. Whether you’re built for speed, endurance, or both, the Timex Ironman Race Trainer is built for you.
Here’s how it works. A digital transmission sensor—worn around your chest—monitors your heart rate and syncs your body with the Ironman Race Trainer heart rate monitor watch.
While training, the Ironman Race Trainer and Timex Data Xchanger USB device create online training logs, which are powered by TrainingPeaks software.
Once your workout is finished, the Ironman Race Trainer wirelessly downloads your training log to the online account you created via the Timex Device Agent, a free desktop program that enables you to extract data from your Race Trainer and upload it to your account at the push of a button.
With the Device Agent, you can also manage the settings on your Ironman Race Trainer.
Additional features include a 10-workout memory and variable-intensity interval timer. The USB transmits zone and interval setup information among other workout and watch parameters.
The heart rate monitor is available in four watch styles and in both men’s and women’s sizes.
The Timex Ironman Race Trainer and Timex Data Xchanger USB are available in a single kit for $220. You also can purchase them separately for $150 and $100, respectively.
