Tom Brady’s Powerful Words on Social Media: ‘There’s So Much Blame and Shame’
Tom Brady is the personification of focus and dedication.
But even the 42-year-old, six-time Super Bowl champion is on social media.
Despite his head coach being king curmudgeon when it comes to such technology, Brady now has active personal accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
During a recent radio interview with The Greg Hill Show, Brady offered some insightful thoughts on social media.
“I think it’s a little unfortunate in the world today, the expectations are perfection for people, and then when we’re less than that, there’s so much blame and shame,” said Brady.
“I think that’s a hard thing about our culture today. We’re almost asking people to be inhuman. There’s nothing you can do without the utmost scrutiny. And then everyone wants to just see everyone raked over the coals.”
As a father to three young children, Brady is also concerned how social media can potentially impact their perceptions.
“I think that part is really challenging as a parent for your kid…I think it’s a very challenging time,” said Brady.
Ultimately, Brady looks to use social media for spreading his enthusiasm for sport and for life rather than get caught up in all the mud-slinging that goes on.
“From my standpoint on social media, it’s just about trying to pass on and convey messages that I feel are fun or something inspiring. I’m a very positive person and I try to keep my social media that way because that’s my point of view. That’s how I choose to go through life.”
