UNLV Football Gets Hyped in the Weight Room During ‘Max-Out Day’
The UNLV football program has had some hype-filled lifting sessions lately.
In the past two days, the Rebels have posted videos on Twitter and Instagram showing themselves gathered in a circle and cheering on teammates who are performing Squats and Power Cleans on their “Max Strength Day.”

Last year, head coach Tony Sanchez kicked off a “new era” in the program after UNLV had posted a below-.500 record for nine of the past ten seasons. In 2015, they went 3-9, losing six of their last seven games.

The Rebels have a solid recruiting class this year, one of the best they’ve had in years. They signed 20 players, and Rivals.com ranked their class fourth best in the Mountain West conference behind Boise State, Colorado State and San Diego State. UNLV’s class is tied for No. 71 in the nation.

The players cheering one another during lifting sessions creates a positive culture in the locker room and helps build team chemistry. Their Max Strength Days could end up propelling them to a much better record this season.
