WATCH: Alex Rodriguez Flips Bat After Hitting Home Run . . . in the Minor Leagues
Many people do not like Alex Rodriguez—for a myriad of reasons, including his confession to having used performance-enhancing drugs, the photo of him kissing himself in the mirror and his overall smugness. And in case you were looking for one more reason to sneer at A-Rod, well, he’s making it pretty easy for you.

Rodriguez is currently on a rehab stint with the Double-A Trenton Thunder as he works back from a hamstring injury; and he’s taking full advantage of the inferior talent attempting to pitch to him. Rodriguez belted a two-run homer on Wednesday night, then decided it would be super cool if he mixed in a bat flip to go with it.
Look, I’ve written about bat flips before, specifically José Bautista’s, and how awesome they can be. But that’s at the Major League level, in a huge playoff game when emotions are at their peak. Bat flipping on a rehab assignment in a minor league stadium that seats just over 6,000 people is akin to Yao Ming flexing after dunking on a 3-year-old using a Lil’ Tykes hoop.
Keep doing your thing though, A-Rod. I’m sure your fellow Double-A-ers making .00001 percent of your salary and living in Holiday Inns appreciate your celebrations.
