WATCH: Jason Pierre-Paul Reps Out With 225 Pounds on the Bench Press Despite Missing Two Fingers
Jason Pierre-Paul’s return to the New York Giants defensive line midway through the 2015 NFL season showed that the man can still get after the quarterback despite having blown off two of the fingers on his right hand in a July 4th fireworks accident. Pierre-Paul recently received a one-year deal to stay with the Giants through 2016, and he told the team that his hand “won’t be an issue.”
There certainly seems to be truth to that statement, as Pierre-Paul is already in the gym this off-season putting in heavy reps on the Bench Press as though his hand were fully intact. In a video posted to his Instagram, Pierre-Paul easily runs through seven reps with 225 pounds on the bar, using only three fingers to grip the bar with his right hand.
Maybe that hand really won’t be an issue for Pierre-Paul.
