In what will go down as one of the wildest baseball games ever, the lasting image of the Toronto Blue Jays’ 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers to advance to the ALCS is José Bautista’s bat, soaring high in the air like a wooden missile.

With the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning and runners on first and third, Bautista hit an absolutely mammoth blast to left field. It was one of those home run balls you sense may never come down. The roar from the crowd at the “not one more person could fit in this stadium” Rogers Centre hit decibel levels akin to a plane landing, and it swept Bautista up.
