Watch Odell Beckham Jr. Show Off Crazy Quickness and Reflexes With His Tennis Ball Reaction Drill
Odell Beckham Jr. makes the impossible look pedestrian. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound New York Giants receiver has unbelievable reactions, hand-eye coordination and focus, allowing him to pull off catches few others can. OBJ builds those skills during his training. Just look at the cat-like reflexes and laser focus he displays during this drill:

That’s trainer Jamal Liggin tossing the tennis balls, and STACK actually got the chance to talk to him about this unique drill last Summer.
“This drill not only works on hand-eye coordination, it also improves your reaction time, balance and vision,” Liggin says. “I might be moving to the left but throwing the ball to your right, and you have to read that, adjust, make the catch and then get it back to me without dropping the ball. And [you have to] do it all while setting yourself up to make a play on the next one.”
Liggin will have OBJ perform the drill in a variety of environments, including on top of sand and inside a shallow pool.
Last season, Beckham set a new career-high with 101 receptions. If his offseason training is any indication, he might be poised to raise the bar once again.
