Watch Patrick Mahomes Throw a Football 80 Yards at Texas Tech’s Pro Day
When former Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes told STACK that he once threw a football 80 yards during pregame warm-ups, we had no reason to doubt him. The dude’s arm speaks for itself, as it is widely regarded as the strongest of all the quarterbacks who have entered the 2017 NFL Draft. The only disappointment was the lack of visual evidence.
A bit wobbly but Mahomes just ripped a hail mary 80 yards. Admittedly, always windy in Lubbock pic.twitter.com/d3TakSOvmA

Thanks to Mahomes’ Pro Day on Friday morning at Texas Tech, we can now confirm that Mahomes wasn’t simply attempting to further an urban legend about his arm. The dude does indeed have a cannon, and he showed it off by launching a football from his own 20 yard line into the opposite end zone.
Arm strength alone doesn’t equate to success in the NFL, of course, but it’s not every day you get to see a dude throw a ball that far with minimum effort. Wherever Mahomes ends up, his deep passes are going to be some of the most exciting in the NFL.
