Aaron Gordon finally received the recognition he deserved during the NBA’s 2016 Dunk Contest in Toronto, but the kid once dubbed a mini-Blake Griffin has been throwing down rim rattlers practically his entire career. He dunked on everyone and everything at Archbishop Mitty High School (San Jose, California), then continued on his dunking rampage at the University of Arizona. He has now been dunking for two years in Orlando, but the Magic haven’t been on national TV enough for you to notice.

That changed following Gordon’s once-in-a-lifetime performance during All-Star Weekend, and he hasn’t stopped taking flight since. Against Philadelphia a few nights ago, he caught an alley-oop with one hand and casually threw it down over Jahlil Okafor.

Last night against the Golden State Warriors, Gordon attempted to match Stephen Curry’s 51-point outburst with some showmanship of his own, taking off from just inside the free-throw line on a fast break as if he were going for a friendly jaunt through downtown Orlando.

Earlier, Gordon took advantage of a ref’s whistle to ram home a windmill dunk. It didn’t count, but it looked so effortless it should have been worth four points anyway.

Let this be a lesson to all future opponents of Aaron Gordon. He will never stop dunking, even if you ask nicely. He will dunk on you, around you and on top of you, and if you aren’t careful, you’ll end up on the lockscreen of a young Magic fan’s iPhone, your underestimation of Gordon forever immortalized.
