The NFL is enjoying a golden age of wide receivers. The talent at the position is nothing short of astounding, and the numbers posted by wide receivers are eye-popping. But with so many extraordinary receivers in the league right now, one question is bound to arise—who’s the best?

Perhaps no one is more qualified to answer that question than Terrell Owens, whose 15,934 career receiving yards rank second in league history, and his 156 career receiving touchdowns rank third. STACK recently spoke with the six-time Pro Bowler and asked him who in his opinion was currently the king of the NFL receiver mountain.

“I’m gonna go with Calvin Johnson. I think with both what he’s done throughout his career and the durability he’s been able to obtain,” Owens said. “If you think about the people who have sustained a long career, a lot of their longevity has to do with their durability and being able to be on the field to perform. So that factors in to who I see as the best of the best, so right now Calvin Johnson is at the top of that list. But there’s a few guys that are nipping at his heels.”

Owens’ answer might come as a surprise given the recent success of guys like Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins, but T.O. is obviously taking Megatron’s extensive body of work into account. Johnson has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards and 77 receptions in six consecutive seasons. He also had a very solid 2015, playing in every game and hauling in 88 receptions for 1,214 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns.

Owens also believes Julio Jones can be an all-time great if he can stay healthy. “You think about a guy like Julio Jones, if he can stay consistently healthy, he’s definitely going to eclipse a number of those guys like Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., Dez Bryant,” Owens said.
