Welcome to Wrexham: New Real-Life ‘Ted Lasso’ Hulu Documentary on Wrexham Football Club
The highly anticipated Hulu documentary “Welcome to Wrexham” a supposed real-life Ted Lasso story, was released yesterday, and the first two episodes of the 18-episode film did not disappoint.
The documentary follows new American movie and tv star owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney from It’s ‘Always Sunny in Philadelphia’, as they purchase the Wrexham Football Club and attempt to help the team make its way back to the Championship League, or at least help them get promoted from the fifth tear of professional English football.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham Football Club in early 2021 for $2.5 million. In the first episode, McElhenny jokes about when he first considered purchasing the club and how he makes great TV money, but then admits it would require “superhero-movie-star-money.”. Hinting at how his partnership with Reynolds, AKA Deadpool, was formed.
