Why Jadeveon Clowney is Participating in Special Teams Work During Training Camp
Jadeveon Clowney, the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, has had a rough career to date. Plagued by injuries, the Houston Texans defensive end has struggled to achieve success. But last night in his first pre-season game, the 23-year-old showed that he can still dominate.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound athletic freak started Saturday’s game against the New Orleans Saints and impressed all onlookers. Clowney had two tackles and one sack, but even when he wasn’t making a mark on the stat sheet, he was still impacting the game.

To get back to dominating offensive linemen, Clowney has been working hard during training. To stay in shape, he’s even been participating in special team drills. Via the Houston Texans team website, he said, “Staying in shape—just staying in shape and having fun with it. I told coach to try me out there and let me go down there to see if I can do something and see what happens.”
