For many pro athletes and teams, rap is the pre-game music of choice. Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson names Lil’ Wayne as the number one artist who gets him hyped. Indiana Pacers G-F Dahntay Jones’ pre-game playlist is dedicated exclusively to Jay-Z. And these pro athletes share their love of rap before big showdowns.
Now Troy Polamalu and the rest of the Steelers have a new contender for their pre-game playlists. In September, rapper Wiz Khalifa released a new single, “Black and Yellow.” A Pittsburgh native, Khalifa wrote the song with his city in mind, calling it “one that’s gonna be real big for Pittsburgh. It’s gonna be the Steelers’ anthem.”
