WWE Legend ‘Big Show’ Has Lost Nearly 100 Pounds in 8 Months, Now Has ‘Giant Abs’
After losing nearly 100 pounds in eight months, WWE legend Big Show is sporting giant abs.
The 45-year-old Big Show—real name Paul Donald Wight II—weighed in at 463 pounds last July. His body felt terrible. Everything hurt—his hips, his knees, his size-22 feet. “I wasn’t feeling good at all. I was complaining and complaining. I had been a tremendous athlete, but it was a difficult time,” Wight recently told ESPN.
Around that same time, Big Show was complaining about his constant aches and pains to John Cena. Instead of hollow sympathy, Cena offered him a veiled challenge. “[How about] a giant with abs . . . who’d want to see that?” Cena asked Big Show. The question was rhetorical—what wrestling fan wouldn’t want to see the 7-foot Big Show sporting a six-pack?
Big Show accepted the challenge. He found himself a nutritionist. He hooked up with Miami-based trainer Dodd Romero, who’s worked with athletes like Alex Rodriguez. And he changed his mindset, focusing on actually making a change instead of complaining.
“You don’t make the transformation I’ve made without a serious commitment to changing 40 years of improper diet and improper training,” Big Show told WWE.com. “I wanted to make a change, and I was given the time and opportunity to make a change, so I took advantage of it.”
Big Show began exercising regularly, focusing on high-rep workouts. He totally overhauled his diet, dropping junk foods like ice cream, pizza and meatball subs. “When you take the time and do the research [about nutrition], it’s more about what suits you, not what suits everybody,” Big Show said.

“That was after a night of about 250 crunches,” Big Show said of that photo during a recent appearance on Conan. There are rumors that Big Show might face another massive athlete at Wrestlemania 33—Shaquille O’Neal. The two have been going at it on social media leading up to the event, and Shaq even showed off his owns abs to TMZ Sports.
